The Board of Directors of BIOTED, the Association of Biological and Biotechnical Control Products Producers and Suppliers, paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Director Ahmet Dallı. BİOTED President Ali Eroğlu and Board Members Ahmet Özgür Ateş, Mehmet Oba and Gökçe Cengiz attended that meeting.
Antalya Provincial Director of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ahmet Dallı indicated that studies in Kumluca and Demre proved that effectiveness of biological control has significantly increased.
Ahmet Dallı, after he listened to association information given by the President of the Association Ali Eroğlu, emphasized that the organization of biological control sector is gratifying with the great work they are carrying out in the field of biological control. After the studies carried out in Kumluca and Demre regions, Ahmet Dallı remarked that producers using biological control methods have achieved significant success in terms of both product quality and pesticide residue, and pointed out that they can cooperate with BİOTED.
Cooperation in training and extension
Ahmet Dallı, who evaluated the request of the members of the association for a special certificate for engineers providing consultancy services in the field of biological control, approved the request. Provincial Director Ahmet Dallı noted that a certification program could be issued together with consultants so as to enable them serving as pillars to prefering biological control at local level, and stated that they could cooperate with BİOTED in this regard.
The delegation also demanded an assistance from the Provincial Directorate for an extension activity planned by BİOTED for producers along Mediterranean coastline. Ahmet Dallı indicated that they had parallel work on this initiative and agreed to cooperate.
